City of Oklahoma City HOME Down Payment Assistance

Check with a participating lender

Up to $18,000 toward down payment and closing costs, plus up to $5,000 to buy down your rate, for homes inside Oklahoma City.

  • The home must be inside Oklahoma City limits — check the address.
  • Household income is within the 80% area median limit ($70,350 for 3 people).
  • The price must be under 95% of the area median sale price — the counseling agency can confirm the current figure.
  • A forgivable loan: after 60 days, 1/120th is forgiven each month over 10 years. Selling earlier repays the unforgiven part.
  • Household income at or below 80% of the area median (about $78,150 for a family of four).
  • You put in at least 1% of the price, take a free homebuyer class from a HUD-certified counselor, and use a 30-year fixed-rate first mortgage. Homes in a 100-year flood zone are excluded.
  • The price must be under 95% of the area's median sale price, which HUD publishes each year. Not limited to first-time buyers.
  • Apply through Community Action Agency (405-232-0199) or Neighborhood Housing Services (405-231-4663).

Next step: talk to a participating lender. Every one of these programs is applied for through a lender, not directly. A lender can check your eligibility, combine assistance with the right loan, and tell you what you would pay.

Estimate only. Not a loan offer or commitment.

APR assumed equal to the rate; actual APR will be higher with lender fees.

Rates, taxes and insurance vary by borrower, lender, property and date. Your actual payment will differ.
